Cornelis Drebbel, a Dutch inventor, created the first clock powered by changes in atmospheric pressure and temperature at the beginning of 17th century. In 1928, Swiss engineer, Jean-Léon Reutter, designed the first Atmos clock. In 1936 Jaeger-Le-Coultre, luxuries watch and clock manufacturer, purchased the patent and devoted 10 years perfecting the design. The Atmos clock derives needed energy from small changes in atmospheric pressure and temperature. The mechanism is very accurate and can run for many years without any intervention.

Atmos clocks due timeless and unique design are the Swiss government official gift for over 60 years. They combine tradition, modernity and innovation at the highest level.
